Love your paragraph about Brené Brown, Chip Conley, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I feel like a lot of media is controlled in a way by people who maybe have the right intentions, but are not the everyday person you would have an insightful conversation with.
I love what you're here to do, Leah. This question: What does enough look like at this stage of life? That's what I'm interested in. I look forward to reading more from you!
I’m looking forward to reading more! I’m a book coach and most of my clients are women who are discovering their writing voice in midlife, and that is my favorite client to work with! It is so gratifying to be part of the journey as they give themselves permission to take up space, recognize their voice matters, and invest in themselves. And I’ve personally made some huge midlife pivots myself so this resonates on a personal level for me too!
I very much look forward to reading more of your articles. Midlife feels like a stripping away of the outer shell and embracing the person that has been tucked away by facade. What does this inner me really like, what am I interested in, what catches my fancy? I look forward to the exploration!!
Looking forward to reading more. I am very new to Substack, not so much to menopause! I am coming out the other side now and I do feel as though I can now explore other aspects of my life. Hoping to start writing at the age of 53 and looking for inspiration and other women to connect with.
I’m excited to read your writing. @leahweiss As a menopause midwife, almost every conversation I have these days is about some aspect of the midlife adventure. It is certainly a crossroads with a very clear choice to live or diminish. I’m looking forward to building community and connecting with others here on Substack.
Yes! You are 100% asking the right questions. Our midlife journey is about so much more than menopause. It's about the physical, the emotional, relationships, changes in our perspective, our livelihood, what we value, what we see value in. I could keep going! It truly is like another life. We need to be aware this is happening too, or we might just miss it. I am new here myself and looking forward to continuing to connect with you.
I love that you’re doing this, @Leah Weiss, PhD! There are so many of us here on Substack, sharing stories and supporting this new and growing community of badass mid-lifers (and beyond)!

I would love to hear your thoughts on this question as you reflect on it. I am giving it a lot of thought too, so much hinges on it.

So much I wish I’d thought about when I was in early midlife.
